The Miracle of Life

October 3, 2008

One of my best friends has been trying to get pregnant for several years. After much disappointment and dashed hopes, she and her husband reconciled themselves with the fact that Mother Nature wasn’t supporting their natural methods, so they turned to modern science and started the In Vitro process.

What followed was a year in which my friend was subjected to the emotional and physical challenges associated with the IVF process.

Have you seen my pants? No, seriously, have you?

Don’t worry, I’m not parading around in my undies, but I’ve just learnt a costly lesson and I have to admit that I’m a bit embarrassed.

Are You Ready for an Earthquake?

August 3, 2008

Experts say we are overdue for a big earthquake, with a possible magnitude of 9.0 on the Richter scale. About This Site

I set up this site to offer my random musings to those who are interested (Hi Mum!). It wasn't created using a blog publishing application (like Wordpress). Instead, I downloaded a template and alter the CSS and html code to suit what I want. Although I may be sacrificing cleaner code and an adherence to web standards, I want a site that has an original look, and I want to stay on my toes when it comes to writing and remembering code, and do my best to keep it clean. That said, I'm sure at some point I will switch to a publishing application just for the ease of updating this site.

I have another website for my freelance company, What's Up Document, where you can find portfolio samples along with information about my background and education.

Web Writing

I completed a web writing course at UBC and was thrilled to take it since there aren't many courses offered for creating and managing web content. The instructor is an associate creative director for an international communications company, and a brilliant teacher. Overall, it was incredibly valuable and beneficial.
